For Fifth Consecutive Year, California Law Firm Supports Students
The attorneys at Albertson & Davidson, LLP understand the financial burden associated with attaining a college education and believe in creative approaches to solving issues. The law firm is pleased to sponsor our 2019 Infographic Scholarship Contest to help students with college expenses. By offering the scholarships, Albertson & Davidson hopes to help students attain their educational and professional goals.
To select the winners of the scholarships, Albertson & Davidson is inviting the submittal of original infographics that deliver information about one of the following topics in creative ways:
- Warning Signs of Dementia —The population of older adults in California and throughout the U.S. is expanding, bringing an increase in the number of people affected by dementia. While most seniors 65 and older do not have cognitive impairment, about one is 10 has dementia, according to a new study by the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Rand Corp. Understanding the warning signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s can help families recognize when their elderly parents need help with managing their financial affairs.
- Warning Signs of Nursing Home Abuse — People who depend on nursing home caregivers for assistance with basic needs such as eating meals and toileting are vulnerable to abuse, neglect and exploitation. It is important for families that have relatives in nursing homes to be able to recognize warning signs of nursing home abuse so that they can protect their loved ones.
The three students selected as winners will receive scholarships in the amounts of:
- 1st Prize—$1,500
- 2nd Prize—$1000
- 3rd Prize—$500
Students who are currently enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited college or university in the United State during the fall of 2019 are eligible to enter the contest.
The deadline to enter the contest is May 1, 2019. Additional details about the infographic contest rules and how to enter can be found on the Albertson & Davidson scholarship page. The winners will be notified by email and announced on the law firm’s scholarship page on May 15.
The scholarship checks will be issued to the institution’s financial aid office.
